On October 6th, 2017, NIS was featured in the Danish online magazine, JydskeVestkysten. The article focused on NIS’ recent trip to Vejen Gymnasium, our second sister school in Denmark. NIS has been collaborating scholastically with Rosenstens Gymnasium for the past seven years and with Vejen for the past two.
The time had come for 20 NIS students, accompanied by their teacher chaperones to tour, attend, and live with their Danish host families, after having received the Danes, earlier this year.
The article celebrated the growing friendship between Dr. Nermien Ismail Schools and our Danish sister schools as part of NIS’ ever-expanding Global Citizenship Program. It is here where students truly travel beyond the borders of their classrooms and the boundaries of physical geography to learn, first hand, about different cultures though this lauded exchange program.
A highlight of the article was placed on NIS’ first ever Danish interns, who we happily know as Marie and Noah. These two graduates of Rosenstens Gymnasium are currently interning as teachers and administrative assistants at NIS, before they begin their first year in college.
We look forward to a lifetime of collaboration and friendship with our Danish sister schools and to opening our doors to more opportunities for our students.
