Don’t you ever get tired of talking about the same old sports such as soccer, tennis, and swimming? Well NIS (Sherouk) suddenly became the answer to all your problems by giving sports an athletic plot twist.
What do I mean by that, you ask?
Well it’s quite simple.
NIS is known for their famous Sports days that occur once a year. This year, however, marked the very first one for NIS Sports Day at the newly inaugurated Sherouk Campus. Why? Because their facilities are amazing! (not jealous at all). They even had the space to come with an NIS American Sports Day Invented Games.
Yes, we invent games. Like, have you ever heard of a game called “Bis Bis Baseball?” (No, right?) Well that is totally fine because it’s a brand new game introduced by 9th graders at NIS- American.
To sum it up, it’s a new game that is basically “Baseball with an Egyptian twist.”
Another exciting creation would be the “Test Your Strength” game. It included each student tying an enormous tire around their waist and racing onward against their opponents. (We’re scouting for the new Hulk, for when Marvel calls)
Besides all these new games, sports such as swimming and soccer were also competitively and blissfully played. On March 8th when Sports Day first began, the 10th Graders in the American division all gathered around to play sports with music blasting in the background. (I mean what else besides music can get you in the mood to workout? Right?)
Sports day was introduced as a way for students to genuinely connect and work together as a team.
“Sports day commenced with the idea of students getting the chance to bond, to get up and be active, and to have a nice break from their normal routine of studying,” said Dr. Browne, MSHS Principal [Sherouk Campus].
Indeed it was. The event was a time for students to learn teamwork, to have fun, and to exercise the importance of sports.
