The Sherouk Campus inaugurates its new pool by hosting a friendly competition. Yes, you read that right! A swimming competition right here on NIS grounds! This is the first competition ever hosted in the new pool. It didn’t only bring together students and their love of swimming, it also united all the school systems. Yes, all school departments participated in this competition: British, American, and National schools.
Competitors ranged between Grade 4 – Grade 12. Each class was divided into Girls and Boys teams. The students’ performance was evaluated to see if they were qualified for the competition. The ones who were qualified were trained by their coaches, to improve their skills before this competition.
‘Don’t count laps, make every lap count’
Contrary to what it may seem like, this was actually a very friendly competition between the students. Each class had three winners of each gender, and each of the winners received a gold medal.
‘Swimming is Like Flying’
Thanks to this friendly sparring, the whole school now knows that there is a new pool and it is up and running in mint condition (and everyone wants to take a dip). Needless to say, the Eagles academy will now encompass swimming as an official training sport at NIS. Being in the water all day sure does sound like fun.
