Have you heard that NIS’s own journalism team is recruiting?! No worries if you haven’t, because now you have! The team had a booth in the recess court for sign ups. (Pretty hard to miss us if you were there). Some people might say ‘a bunch of students writing about school? Sounds boring…’ well actually it’s quite the opposite. Who said that being a journalist was boring? You ever heard of Superman? Loise Lane? Both of them were journalistic giants… when they weren’t off saving the day.
The truth is, covering school events is a lot more fun that you can ever imagine. Whether if it’s for reporting, investigating or photographing the events, there’s nothing like having a backstage pass and seeing the world through a different lens.
“Writing well means never having to say, ‘I guess you had to be there.’ ”
— Jef Mallett
“The central dilemma in journalism is that you don’t know what you don’t know.”– Bob Woodward
Four days after the booth, members of the team passed by to collect submission papers. Now, applicants wait anxiously to see if they have been accepted or not. From the quality of the submissions, it’s going to be a tough choice to make. These candidates are oozing with talent! We’re stoked to see some fresh faces around, with new great ideas.
