For the second consecutive year, NIS held its annual marathon where students from elementary, middle and high school, get to break the daily routine and undergo some healthy competition with their classmates.
“I know how exciting marathons are, so I thought of giving students a chance to experience that on a smaller scale and to get to know what a marathon is, and what is endurance,” explained Ms. Nevine El Baz, the physical education teacher responsible for bringing the marathon to life.
The marathon for the elementary and middle school was help on campus while the high schoolers were taken to an off-campus venue. Some students ran, others took their pictures and some cheered for their peers; filling the atmosphere with positive vibes.
The event was well received and appreciated by students; they enjoyed it for the exercise, the challenge and the overall experience.
Tenth grader Lina Tamer, expressed her gratification towards the marathon, “the school should hold more marathons because it actually helped me feel more successful in doing something that I truly love.”
Winners were celebrated by their schoolmates as they were announced during the daily morning broadcast.
