NIS can always depend on the G11IB class to breathe some excitement into our lives. This time, they packed their bags, hit the road, and traveled to one of the Red Sea’s treasures – Ras Sedr. There, they enjoyed two days filled with activities at Moon Beach Sports Camp. This action-packed trip was an opportunity for students to learn lots of new skills, get out of their comfort zone, explore nature, and learn how to adapt.
On the first day they warmed up on the bus with a round of IB Got Talent. When they arrived, they hit the slopes and beaches for some fun soap sliding and volleyball. Their day continued with free swimming leading to their spaghetti filled lunch to recharge their much needed energy.
But all this was just the preparation phase. For what, you ask? For the long anticipated windsurfing, kayaking and hiking. Yes, they went kayaking… in kayaks! and at night, they learned about astrology by gazing up into the sky and listening to their coaches – their Olympic gold medalist coaches. Mashaallah. Allahuma ma 7asad.
The IB students ended their day by the a campfire to help them become more acquainted with nature to help them relax before bedtime. This was necessary, because another day filled with activities awaited them.
On the second day, IB students lunged into the water implementing their skills in kayaking and windsurfing; finishing up with a water fight!
They savored their pizza, an unquestionable favorite, and got ready to pack their things and say goodbye to not only Ras Sedr but to summer as well.
There is no doubt that the G11-IB class will keep the school on its toes as they embark on a new adventure in the fall. And when they do, we’ll be there to cover it.
