Every year at NIS, a soccer tournament is held between the French, National, and American schools. To start off the tournament, a friendly match took place on the field of NIS-National at the First Settlement campus under the supervision of National and French School Director, Mme. Soad AlMallah. it was a little preview of what is to come.
Before the match, the elementary division wooed the audience with a fabulous performance, the soccer field filled up with boys and girls dressed in the uniform of the Egyptian King Mohamed Salah. Their entrance filled the air with many “Ohhhhhs” and “Awwwws”.
The match heated up right after the first half as the score was 1-0 for the French School, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. However, the National School quickly and skillfully caught up, leading to a tie.
The match was attended by the NIS Operations Director, Mr. Khaled Kamel, and Operations Manager, Mr. Ahmed Abdelatif who recognized eleventh grader Seif El Alfy, as the Man of the Match. He was awarded a signed soccer ball as acknowledgement for his outstanding skills as well as his admirable sportsmanship.
The NIS Football League Cup is a chance for students to engage in some friendly competition and balance between a healthy mind and body while having some fun along side their peers. Stay tuned for more!
