Multiple generations have graduated and left Advanced Education schools – with their heads held high – to conquer their goals and achieve their dreams. Yet, for the rest of us who still call it “home”, there’s a longing for those who have graduated before us. It feels good to welcome them back home.
What better way to meet and greet former students than at the annual Homecoming event. This year, the Senior’s Business class project was to organize and execute an event that hosts alumni of Advanced Education schools in a non-academic and stress free environment. Here, students and staff could catch up, reminisce, and find out what exciting things lay in store for the upcoming graduates.
Every homecoming has a theme, and this year’s graduating class chose “F.R.I.E.N.D.S”. Given that the iconic show was watched by almost every student from the 2014 to the 2019 classes, invitations were sent out and tickets were selling like hot cakes. Guests walked into the Advanced Education campus and it was as though they were on the actual set of the show; the decoration was flawless.
The class of 2020 welcomed former students as well as teachers and staff members with warm smiles and delicious food. To make the night even more fun, the entertainment included student performances to an in unison sing along to the F.R.I.E.N.D.S theme song, “I’ll Be There For You” by The Rembrandts.
High school Business teachers, Hania Kassem, Seba Ismail and Karim Wassim expressed their extreme pride in the students’ ability to organize and execute such an event. The night was definitely one for the books, it was a night to remember.
