Thanksgiving…One word that puts joy and warmth in the hearts of everyone.
Besides the turkey and day off, people spend time with their families and enjoy the quality times. It’s an opportunity witness special moments such as grandpa and grandma bickering over the sauce or mashed potatoes. How many times have you heard this? (or something similar)…
“It needs more salt!”
“YOU NEED MORE MALT?”
“SALT! I SAID SALT!”
“YOU NEED A VALUT?”
“Jesus you’re hopeless.”
“Says the deaf man.”
“SO YOU CAN HEAR ME!”
And so, it goes on.
There are many things in life that people take for granted and do not necessarily take the time to appreciate. Thanksgiving is a day to remind us to be grateful for what we have… for better or for worse. Be thankful for all you have, what you’ve lost, what you’ve accomplished; it’s all a part of a grand plan. If we look hard enough, there is always something to be thankful for.
There are many ways to celebrate this special day. You seize the opportunity and gather your family and friends and enjoy a delicious meal. Also, you can give strangers or people that are less fortunate the chance to be thankful; do a good deed, serve a meal or simply stop and have a conversation with someone. It’s occasions like these that grant us the motivation to keep going and bring the community closer together.
We, at NIS Today, are thankful to be sharing this article with you and to have the opportunity to wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving.
